Today I ran across an issue when creating a new Addon Domain in a cPanel account, which spewed out this error:

Cpanel::AdminBin::_get_cpwrapd_connection could not connect to /usr/local/cpanel/var/cpwrapd.sock

It appears that this error can also occur when adding subdomains, parked domains or even MySQL databases.

While I’m not 100% sure of the root cause of the issue, and after spending around an hour trying to troubleshoot it – I thought I’d save everyone’s time and this error went away after I restarted the cPanel service daemon by executing the following command at root shell:

/etc/init.d/cpanel restart
